Depending on the size of your group, designate one or two people to do the research and make reservations; otherwise the volume of emails and inquiries could be overwhelming! Take advantage of the awesome deals offered by Groupon coupons and consider booking rooms at a Crowne Plaza Hotel. With properties in cities across the country, surely there’s one at your destination. With reasonable rates and tons of amenities, booking rooms at a Crowne Plaza hotel could set the stage for an awesome weekend.

Consider researching restaurants and activities prior to departure. With limited time over a weekend, waiting in line or missing an opportunity for lack of reservations can be disappointing. Make dinner reservations well in advance of your trip. If you have a large group, it might be necessary to reserve several tables. Whether you’re interested in zip lining tours or spa treatments, making advance reservations can make all the difference in the world.

Finally, plan to pack according to the activities you’ve selected. Check the weather as far out as possible at your destination. If you’re making plans for a large group, consider how fun it would be to have t-shirts printed to commemorate this special occasion. No doubt your group will have so much fun; they’ll be planning next year’s trip while your fun girls’ weekend is underway. Happy memory making!

Reusable Shopping Bags – What you Must Know Before Buying Them

Reusable shopping bags do more for the economy and safeguarding our environment than any other product on the market. A shopping bag used two years or longer means that you do not have to throw it in the trash every time you finish putting groceries away. It means that you do not have to cram it into the plastic bag drawer- already stuffed full to the point of busting wide open.

Some of the best brand names for reusable shopping bags are Green Bag, Earthwise Bags, EDOBags, ENVIROSAX, Gecko Traders, OneBagAtATime, ReuseIt, and ChicoBag Eco friendly. The names alone tell you they are companies fully committed to the care of the environment – one reusable bag at a time helps eliminate 2, 480, 000 tons of plastic bottles and jars from being disposed of annually (EPA).

Buying affordable reusable grocery shopping bags is purchasing quality material, saving money, becoming part of a universal team, sharing the earth together, and eliminating excess garbage. To achieve this, shopping online is the best option for you to take.

Shopping at the renowned Internet global market offers you a wider choice of products than at the local mall you have shopped at since a child. Spending a couple hours browsing the net for reusable shopping bags opens up doors to different cultures, new products, vibrant colors, and lots of discounts and sales.

This shows you that shopping bags are made of many materials – durable, well designed, sturdy, and affordable. Some of the choices for reusable bags are hemp, recyclable, PET, GOTS Organic, and NWPP – all in a huge variety of colors, designs, styles, and types to satisfy the fussiest of shoppers.

A reusable bag of any material or type lasts as long as 700 disposable plastic bags, which by the way takes up to 1, 000 years to decompose in the landfills, along the city fence line or our own back yards. Only 1% of the plastic is recycled as the bags are always floating around somewhere. This makes reusable shopping bags vital for the preservation of our future environments. Stores, companies, fund-raisers, and organizations use bags that are recyclable to promote their businesses.

Logos and company designs are ordered in numerous choices of fabrics and bag designs. Online shopping helps you choose your designs, colors logos, and fabrics from numerous websites that are selling the product you are interested in from anywhere in the world, while checking things like free shipping and new products.

There are thousands of online bags to choose from and having lots of fun doing it. Otherwise, you are at the mercy of the local store’s budget, their demographic choices of bag designs, someone else’s likes and dislikes, and having bags that everybody else has within walking distance from you.

Shopping In and around Glasgow

Having the largest population in Scotland it should be no surprise that Glasgow has the largest shopping area in that country. What might be a surprise is that Glasgow has the second largest shopping area in Britain, outstripping cities such as Birmingham and Liverpool. Of great renown to the city is Sauchiehall Street, which is now one of the many pedestrianised shopping streets in the city. As well as on-street shopping along Sauchiehall Street you can visit Buchanan Street and Argyle Street as well as the shopping centres and markets in the city.

The Argyle Arcade is one if the country’s original shopping malls, although the Victorians used to call them arcades. Built in 1827 it links Argyle and Buchanan Streets, today it is now considered to be the ‘Hatton Garden of Scotland’ due to the concentration of expensive and high quality jewellers in the arcade. Having passed through the arcade from Argyle Street on entering Buchanan Street you’ll see at the north end of the street the Buchanan Galleries. With its own car park that has 2000 spaces, the Queen Street train station, the Buchanan Street subway station and buses going past its door; the Buchanan Galleries is one of the easiest shopping centres to access. This spacious and light shopping centre is currently being further extended and improved, the jewels in its crown at present are branches of John Lewis and next. Buchanan Galleries is open daily from 9am to 6pm; except Thursdays when it’s open until 8pm and Sundays when it doesn’t open until 10am. Another shopping centre in Glasgow looking to attract the more refined shopper is the Princes Square, located by the elegant Victorian Princes Square building in the heart of the city centre. Not only does Princes Square have outlets like Moda in Pelle and Vidal Sassoon; but also cafés, restaurants and a nightclub. Whilst the shops and outlets keep the normal hours for a shopping centre the restaurants remain open until midnight whereas the nightclub is open until 3am.

If you’re looking for some ‘traditional’ Scottish shops, then one thing you’ll be interested in is seeing if you’re entitled to wear a tartan. In which case, you could head for Geoffrey (Tailor) Kiltmaker on Sauchiehall Street. With an incredible selection to chose from Robert Graham & Co. on St Vincent Street has whiskies and cigars to meet just about everyone’s taste. Whilst Peckham’s on Byres Road has a great selection of Scottish foods and beers. Not quite so traditional, but a sign of the times and the wealth currently to be found in Glasgow, is the Versace boutique in the Italian Centre on John Street and the Designer Exchange near the Royal Exchange Square in the city centre.

There are several city markets in Glasgow including whole-sale, retail and farmers markets. Open markets are held at; Easterhouse on Wednesday, Drumchapel on Thursday and Govan on Saturdays. However, the most famous of all Glasgow’s markets is the Barras Flea Market, not far from the Gallowgate. The Barrowland Market is open Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 5pm.

St Enoch Shopping Centre is at St Enoch Square below Argyle Street. Stores located here include the usual run of High street chains like: Boots, HMV, BHS and Debenham’s as well as food stores and cafes. The Forge Shopping Centre is to the east of the main shopping area on the Gallowgate. Whilst there are some High Street chain stores here shops include branches of Poundland, Shoe Zone and Asda.

Other shopping centres in Glasgow include, south of the River Clyde and to the west of the city centre at Renfrew, the Braehead Shopping Centre off the A8 near junction 26 of the M8. Opened in 1999 it was the most expensive waterside regeneration project in the country and has further plans to expand even more. Monsoon, Wallis, Lacoste, Waterstones and next Home set the tone for the type and style of shops you’ll find here. The centre has plenty of cafés and restaurants to take a break from your shopping. Outside the shopping centre is a retail park which includes one of only two Ikea stores in Scotland.

Whilst the Braehead includes aspects of being a retail park the two true ‘out of town’ retail parks in Glasgow are the Glasgow Fort and Great Western ones. Glasgow Fort Retail Park is at the eastern edge of the city near junction 10 of the M8. Opened in 2004 it has parking for 1900 cars and is also served well by buses from the city centre. The 75 outlets are spread over 36 hectares and include: Boots, Argos, J D Sports and a wide selection of cafés. The great Western Retail Park is off the Great Western Road to the north west of the city centre. As well as a large Sainsbury’s store there is a B&Q superstore, Comet and JJB’s amongst others.

Shopping in Edinburgh

Second only to Oxford Street in London, probably the most famous on-street shopping area in the uk is Princes Street in Edinburgh. Indeed Edinburgh is one of the few cities in the world where a street name is most closely associated with shopping rather than an undercover and ‘all-in-one’ shopping mall. Edinburgh does have some shopping centres and retail parks, but many of the best shops are to be found as you walk through the streets of the city.

Built toward the end of the Georgian period, Princes Street is one of three parallel streets laid out in a grid formation. The three streets run in a west to east direction from above the site of Edinburgh Castle, the other two streets are George Street and Queen Street. At the west end of these three main streets is access to Charlotte Square and to the east is St Andrew Square. It is at St Andrew Square that the Edinburgh branch of Harvey Nicholls is located. Not only can you visit one of the UKs most exclusive stores but, if you wanted to, you can sample the ‘Taste of Scotland’ in the stores restaurant. With a menu designed by Stuart Muir the £80 a head price tag is only in keeping with the price tags on the clothes and gifts, but then this is an exclusive store. Nearby is the Multrees Walk, a walkway which connects St Andrew Square to the bus station and the St James shopping centre. If you can’t find that exclusive designer label or outfit you’re looking for inside Harvey Nicholls then take a few moments to wander down Multrees Walk. Not only is their a Louis Vuitton store on the corner with the Square, but you could have your hair done at Vidal Sassoon’s or, if that’s not enough, there’s Emporio Armani, Catamini for the younger ones and many more designer label stores to choose from.

For decades the most famous store, or rather department store, in Edinburgh was Jenners. With entrances off Princes Street and St Andrew Square it is situated in one of the prime locations in Edinburgh. Now part of the ‘House of Fraser’ chain it retains its popularity with visitors and the loyalty of Edinburgh residents, remaining one of the places to visit whilst in the city. The undoubted ‘Harrods’ of the north it has occupied the building since 1838 and has over 100 departments that are spread over its five floors. Also, the store has had a Royal Warrant since 1911. There is another House of Fraser store at the west end of Princes Street. Walking down Princes Street between St Charlotte Street and St Andrew Street is, in my opinion, one of the best shopping experiences imaginable. Not only have you got a fabulous selection of shops; apart from the big stores there are others like Zara, Gap and H&M; but on the south side of the road you’ve got views up to Edinburgh Castle and the open spaces of the Princes Street gardens and the Scott Monument – shopping can be a truly pleasurable business. If you should choose to walk along George Street and, to a lesser extent, Queen Street and the connecting roads – you’ll find plenty of other shops including places like Lime Blue a jewellery and diamonds store.

Edinburgh is not without shopping centres. Probably the most significant one is the St James Shopping Centre, at the east end of the city centre, overlooked by Calton Hill. The most largest store here is the John Lewis department store. One of only three John Lewis’s in Scotland it was opened at the same time as the shopping centre in 1973. The shopping centre also has branches of Boots, Next and River Island – amongst many others. The Princes Mall is a small shopping centre between the Waverley Railway station and Princes Street; as such it has small branches of stores likely to attract travellers passing through the station like Tie-Rack and Body Shop. The Gyle Shopping Centre is off the A8 just inside the city boundary on its western approach. Although it is very much ‘out-of-town’ it offers people living on the west side of the city the opportunity to access some of the High Street brand names without having to go into the city. Stores here include the likes of: Boots, Body Shop, Monsoon, Next and Virgin etc.

Markets in Edinburgh these days tend to be rather formal almost corporate events, rather than providing a ‘cheap-and-cheerful’ approach to retail selling. Every Saturday between 9am and 2pm there’s an outdoor Farmers Market of 70 stalls on the Castle Terrace, below Edinburgh Castle. On the second and last Thursday of every month on Castle Street, off Princes Street, there is the Eating Place Market – which celebrates all that’s best in local food production. Also, at different times of the year, there are touring markets at various locations in the city. Such markets include a Christmas Market in the Princes Street Gardens and a German Market over the Hogmanay period.

Retail Parks for Edinburgh include the; Meadowbank, Fort Kinnaird and Straiton Park – which has an Ikea store. However, it is the Ocean Terminal at the Leith Docks, to the north of the city, which is the most prestigious. 75 stores, restaurants, hotels and a 12 screen cinema make this one of the most exciting retail outlets in the country. BHS, Top Shop and Debenham’s are examples of the stores and opportunities you’ll find at this shopping complex.

Easy to Follow Tips for A Stress Free Shopping

Just a few more months to go, and the Yuletide season is finally here. What usually comes to your mind during the holidays? There are delicious foods, parties everywhere, gift giving, vacation and a whole lot more. What is not to love about the holiday season? It is the perfect month of the year to share love, to share happiness, the perfect time to bond with the family and simply enjoy the companion of friends as well.

Kids love the holidays. Not only because there are plenty of foods to share in the table nor the presence of gifts but because the holidays just brings out a deep sense of happiness especially when the family is complete. It is definitely not happy to spend the holiday season alone and sad. Family members who are away from their family during this time of the month feel so sad that they are away and have to spend Christmas Eve at work. But good thing that modern technology can already bring distant families closer with the help of video calling or chatting.

Shopping for presents and the necessary things or foods to prepare for the holidays is always present. And it is very stressful to think about how you did your shopping the previous year during the holiday season. It cannot be avoided that there are people who do late shopping because they want to avail with the discounts or the big sale. When shopping malls offer such, people rush and malls are filled up with a bunch of people in an instant. Criminals then take advantage of such occurrence that is why if you are planning to avail with the discounts as well, never forget to bring your pen stun gun as this will keep you protected in whenever the need arises.

It is not only during the holiday season when shopping malls will be filled with a bunch of people but shopping malls are also filled when it is school time wherein parents and kids shop for the necessary educational supplies needed for school. The holidays, back to school time are just two of the time of the year bringing shopping stress for everyone.

How can you be able to prevent such? Here are simple tips that you can use in keeping away from shopping stress. First, start shopping early. Shopping early prevents you from being in the large group of people inside malls which are jammed. Not only that, it will be difficult to purchase what you need due to the item being sold out. Second, make a detailed shopping list. This will give you an idea on the specific items that you should only buy and also saves you from being troubled about thinking what else to purchase which only wastes your time.

If possible, do your shopping alone. Since you already have a detailed list of what to buy, you will never have to worry about getting another person’s consent. It makes you to decide fast and to move in a fast manner. If you plan to bring your kids along, make sure that you do not leave them unattended. There are already plenty of instances of kids being lost in malls because they have wandered and became fascinated of the different things around them. Instruct your children not to stay away from you and not to wander off without your consent.

And since we are already living in a highly modernized world, you can already do your shopping through accessing the internet. There are already online stores or shops wherein you can purchase what you need. If for instance you want to buy a stun gun as a Christmas present, you can do so when you visit online stores and select from a wide variety of stun guns available. This gives you a stress and worry free shopping.

Just follow the simple tips that way you can prevent having stress when shopping. The tips can also be applied on any other holiday or time of the month where people will be rushing to the malls to shop.

Retail Shopping Vs Online Shopping

Retail shopping and online shopping seem to be two different areas with the same purpose: satisfying the needs of the customer. In fact these two areas of services speak to two categories of clients that overlap at one point.

There are several issues to consider when deciding which one is the most suitable for you:

1. Time. There are two sides of this coin. First of all the time you spend looking for the right product to purchase is definitely shorter when buying online. You can look for anything you want in just a few seconds and even visit more than one shop at a time.

2. Distance. There are several brands that have shops only in some towns, or even in another state. This can be a problem, because most of the times it is not an option traveling long distances just to purchase something. The money you spend on the road to the shop may be more than the worth of the product itself. From this point of view online shopping only can come as an advantage. You are practically one click away from the store.

3. Fun. This issue is something different for each one of us. Many people take pleasure into going from shop to shop and looking for clothes, furniture and all sorts of objects. It can even be quality time spent with your friends or family. On the other hand, there are people who have more fun when they shop online from the comfort of their own homes.

4. Price. It is a little bit more difficult to find the best offer in what concerns the price when you choose retail shopping. You definitely need more time to go from shop to shop, and this is something most of us lack. Moreover many online shops have lower prices because they do not have to pay rent to a hypermarket or a mall.

5. Quality. It is quite difficult to check the quality of the products you purchase online. But most of the online shops give you the possibility to return what you bought if you are not satisfied with the quality. Another issue, when talking about clothes, would be if they fit you. For example if you decide to purchase a linen top from a retail shop you can try it on. On the other hand, most virtual stores have measurement charts so clearly designed that it is impossible to make the wrong choice. Furthermore, if it still doesn’t fit you, you can always return it or exchange it for another one.
